3 Reasons Why It Is Important to Have Regular Checkups and Cleans
Last Friday, a new patient, Georgia from Geelong, came to the clinic for her dental check-up and clean after almost two years.
During our consultation, she asked me, “Tristen, how important is it to get a check-up and clean regularly?”
This is such a very common question for most of our new patients. So I thought I’d make this short video sharing with you what I shared with her.
So, why is it important to have a regular dental check up and clean?
The first and most important reason is that dental check-ups can help prevent problems before they even start. We can spot early signs of tooth decay, gum disease, and even oral cancer during a routine check-up.
Catching these issues early on can save you from a lot of pain and discomfort down the road. Plus, it’s usually easier and less expensive to treat these problems in their early stages. So, by having a dental check up regularly, you can actually save yourself time, money, and potential discomfort.
Regular professional dental cleans can help keep your teeth and gums healthy in the long run. We can clean your teeth more thoroughly than you can at home, which helps prevent plaque buildup and cavities.
We can also give you tips and advice on maintaining good oral hygiene between visits. Also, regular check-ups can help identify any underlying issues that could lead to more serious problems in the future. By catching these issues early, we can help you develop a treatment plan to keep your teeth and gums healthy for years.
Regular dental check-ups benefit your overall health. Poor oral health has been linked to many health problems, including heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. By taking care of your teeth and gums, you’re actually taking care of your entire body. So, keeping up with check ups and cleans regularly isn’t just good for your smile. It’s good for your overall health.
To wrap it up, bi-yearly dental check-up and cleans are important for several reasons. By attending routine appointments, you can prevent dental problems from developing, maintain good oral health in the long run, and even benefit your overall health.
I hope this video helps you understand the benefits and importance of regular dental check-ups and cleans.
