Dental Implants
Dental Implants Waurn Ponds, Geelong
Dental implants are an innovative and natural-looking long-term treatment to replace missing teeth. Dental implants become a fixed part of your mouth and allow you to go about your everyday life. We use the latest technological advances such as 3-dimensional implant planning and guided implant surgery to provide solutions to give you long lasting implants which will give you the confidence to smile once again.
Other tooth replacement options exist for people with missing teeth, but not everyone is a fan. Some patients want a fixed solution, so this eliminates dentures. Others may find a fixed option such as a bridge undesirous because it requires removing healthy tooth structure on either side of an edentulous area. For these patients, dental implants are the perfect solution.
Dental implants are made of titanium, which is bio-compatible with the human body. The implant is placed in the jawbone where it fuses with the bone over time. This provides a solid foundation for attaching a tooth, bridge, or denture.
The result is a natural looking tooth that functions just like your other teeth. Whether you are missing one tooth or all of your teeth, dental implants can give you back your smile.
What Are Dental Implants?
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are designed to replace a missing tooth (crown and root portion) both anatomically and functionally. The ‘root’ of an implant is made from biocompatible titanium that is placed in the upper or lower jaw. When placed in the jaw, the screw, through a process called osseointegration, will fuse with the bone in the jaw and create a strong foundation for your replacement tooth. Typically, this process will take about three (3) to six (6) months.
The implant is then uncovered, and a small attachment will be placed on top of your implant to connect the replacement tooth. In cases where a single tooth is missing, a crown will be placed. This crown will be fabricated to match the colour of your natural teeth. In cases where multiple teeth are missing, a custom-made bridge or denture will be anchored to your implants.
Full Mouth And Full Arch Dental Implants
At Dove Dental, in Geelong’s Waurn Ponds near Melbourne, we offer full mouth and full arch dental implants to help our patients restore their smiles. Dental implants are a permanent solution for missing teeth, and they can also be used to support dentures. The implants are placed in the jawbone, and over time, they fuse with the bone to create a strong foundation for artificial teeth.
Full mouth dental implants can be used to replace all of the teeth on the upper or lower jaw, and full arch implants can be used to replace all of the teeth on both jaws. The number of implants required will depend on the number of teeth being replaced and the strength of the patient’s jawbone – ask us about the cost and prices for your unique treatment.
The implant surgery is performed under local anaesthesia, and it usually takes about two hours to complete. After the surgery, patients will need to follow a soft diet for a few days while the implants heal. Once the healing process is complete, patients can enjoy their new smile.

Advantages Of Dental Implants
There are many reasons why dental implants are fast becoming the preferred option for tooth replacement. A few of the main benefits are highlighted below:
Matches Your Natural Teeth
Dental implants can be fabricated to replace your missing tooth perfectly in form (matching the colour and fitting perfectly) and function (the titanium screw replacing the tooth root allows you to bite with the same amount of force you could use with your natural teeth unlike other options).
Prevents Bone Loss
Losing teeth, means losing bone mass in your jaw. Dental implants are the only tooth replacement option that stimulates the jawbone and helps to prevent bone loss.
Preserves facial structure
Your teeth help support your facial structure and without them, your face will change, and you can appear older. Dental implants provide similar support for your face as your natural teeth, preventing this from occurring.
Permanent Solution for Tooth Loss
While other tooth replacement options will need to be repaired or replaced periodically, dental implants are designed to last a lifetime.

Affordable Dental Implant Solutions At Dove Dental
Affordable Dental Implant Solutions At Dove Dental
Dove Dental offers affordable dental implants that can help to restore your smile. Dental implants are a popular tooth replacement option because they are strong and durable. They are also designed to match the colour of your natural teeth, so they blend in seamlessly.
In addition, dental implants can be used to support a tooth bridge or dentistry crown. A tooth bridge is an ideal solution for people who are missing one or more adjacent teeth. The bridge is made up of two dental crowns that are placed on the teeth on either side of the gap and connected by a false tooth.
Aesthetics crowns are another type of dental crown that is used for cosmetic purposes. Dove Dental offers both tooth bridges and aesthetic crowns at affordable prices. Call today to schedule a consultation.
Am I A Good Candidate For Dental Implants?
Dental implants can be used to replace teeth in a variety of scenarios including the replacement of a single tooth or even for cases where a patient is completely edentulous in one or both arches using a denture typically supported by four (4) implants. However, even though implants are suitable for use in several scenarios, they are not for everyone.
Our dental team will complete a comprehensive evaluation including x-rays to assess your oral health and determine whether or not you are a suitable candidate for receiving dental implants.
